[dispmath]\vec a=\vec p+2\vec q\\
\vec b=\vec p -2\vec q[/dispmath]
Treba izracunati povrsinu paralelograma konsturisanog nad vektorima [inlmath]\vec a[/inlmath] i [inlmath]\vec b[/inlmath] tj. [dispmath]\left|\vec a\times\vec b\right|=?[/dispmath]
U resenju stoji:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=\left(\vec p+2\vec q\right)\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)=-2\vec p\times\vec q+2\vec q\times\vec p=-4\vec p\times\vec q[/dispmath][dispmath]P=\left|\vec a\times\vec b\right|=4\cdot\left|\vec p\times\vec q\right|=\cdots[/dispmath]

Evo malo postupnije:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=\left(\vec p+2\vec q\right)\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)[/dispmath]
pa sad, kao i u algebri kad imamo izraz [inlmath]\left(a+b\right)\left(c-d\right)=ac-ad+bc-bd[/inlmath], množimo svaki sa svakim:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=\vec p\times\vec p-\vec p\times\left(2\vec q\right)+\left(2\vec q\right)\times\vec p-\left(2\vec q\right)\times\left(2\vec q\right)[/dispmath]
Zbog osobine homogenosti vektorskog proizvoda (koju, kao i ostale osobine, možeš videti u ovoj temi):
[inlmath]\vec p\times\left(2\vec q\right)=2\vec p\times\vec q\\
\left(2\vec q\right)\times\vec p=2\vec q\times\vec p\\
\left(2\vec q\right)\times\left(2\vec q\right)=2\cdot 2\vec q\times\vec q=4\vec q\times\vec q[/inlmath]
[inlmath]\vec p\times\vec p=0\\
4\vec q\times\vec q=4\cdot 0=0[/inlmath]
Prema tome, vektorski proizvod [inlmath]\vec a\times\vec b[/inlmath] svodi se na:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=-2\vec p\times\vec q+2\vec q\times\vec p[/dispmath]
Zbog osobine antikomutativnosti, [inlmath]\vec q\times\vec p=-\vec p\times\vec q[/inlmath]:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=-2\vec p\times\vec q-2\vec p\times\vec q[/dispmath]
Distribucija množenja skalarom u odnosu na sabiranje vektora, [inlmath]\lambda\vec a+\mu\vec a=\left(\lambda+\mu\right)\vec a[/inlmath]:
[dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=\left(-2-2\right)\vec p\times\vec q[/dispmath][dispmath]\vec a\times\vec b=-4\vec p\times\vec q[/dispmath]
I ostatak ti je, znači, jasan.

A evo i još jednog objašnjenja za korak
[dispmath]\left(\vec p+2\vec q\right)\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)=\vec p\times\vec p-\vec p\times\left(2\vec q\right)+\left(2\vec q\right)\times\vec p-\left(2\vec q\right)\times\left(2\vec q\right)[/dispmath]
Koristimo osobinu distributivnosti vektorskog proizvoda u odnosu na sabiranje, koju takođe možeš videti u pomenutoj temi, a koja glasi [inlmath]\left(\vec a+\vec b\right)\times\vec c=\vec a\times\vec c+\vec b\times\vec c[/inlmath], tako što prvo [inlmath]\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)[/inlmath] posmatramo kao jedan vektor, tj. posmatramo ga kao [inlmath]\vec c[/inlmath] iz prethodne formule:
[dispmath]\left(\vec p+2\vec q\right)\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)=\vec p\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)+2\vec q\times\left(\vec p-2\vec q\right)=[/dispmath]
[dispmath]=\vec p\times\vec p-\vec p\times\left(2\vec q\right)+\left(2\vec q\right)\times\vec p-\left(2\vec q\right)\times\left(2\vec q\right)=\cdots[/dispmath]
